Steve was born in Key West, Florida and at the age of 4 moved to Wilson, North Carolina where the love of the game began and culminated into attending the Hargrave Military Academy where he was voted as three-time MVP, a three-time Virginia Independence All Conference, and was a champion at the World Scholar Athlete Games. He was inducted into the Hargrave Hall of Fame and had his number retired in 2015.

Coach Steve followed in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps and attended Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire where he continued his successful keeper career garnering All-Conference Goalkeeper, Academic All-Conference, and 1995 Umbro NCAA All-New England Goalkeeper accolades.  Steven also holds a MA in History from Providence College.

I have worked with keepers of all ages and skill sets. My goal is to improve each player mentally as well as the physical component of the game. I focus heavily on the mental aspect of the position as this is an important part of athletics that is often overlooked and I learned can be detrimental to kids if not addressed. Each player is different. That and proper technique are keys to a successful keeper.
